چکیده
This study examines the effect of adding coffee husks (CH), cacao by-product (CBP) and passion fruit (PBP) (fresh-matter basis) in silage elephant grass cv. Napier on nutritional characteristics. The experiment was laid out a completely randomized design with 3 × 4 factorial arrangement represented by three additives (CH, CBP or PBP) four inclusion levels (0, 12, 24 36%). Four replicates were used per treatment. material ensiled experimental mini-silos that opened 60 days later for chemical analysis produced silages. dry matter content silages CH PBP included at greater than 25% adequate. showed highest crude protein best results vitro digestibility. In containing CH, neutral detergent fiber decreased linearly increasing husks. lowest pH. conclusion, up to 36% ensiling is recommended, as resulting has potential use ruminant feeding times forage scarcity.

The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the effects of adding cassava scrapings on gas and effluent losses, dry matter recovery, pH, contents of N-NH3, organic acids and volatile fatty acids and the bromatological composition of elephant grass silages. It was used a randomized complete design, with four levels of cassava scrapings (0, 7, 15 or 30% natural matter) each one with four rep...

The experiment was conducted to evaluate losses and nutritive value of elephant grass silage containing increasing levels of cottonseed meal. The experimental design was completely randomized, with five treatments: 0, 7, 14, 21 and 28% inclusion of cottonseed meal, and four replications. The material was chopped and packed in PVC silos and stored for 80 days. The pH and dry matter (DM), crude p...

Two experiments were conducted to determine the effect of EM on the consumption, nutritive value and digestibility of elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schum cv. napier) silages processed from wilted and fresh grasses. The first experiment was a feeding trial with sheep involving three treatments: fresh grass silage + 9% ground corn fed alone or inoculated with EM, and wilted grass silage in...
